The jss is funded by the government of India It is imparting skill oriented training courses for out of school youths like illiterate adults neo literates and youths with rudimentary level of education Conducting awareness building activities The skill training courses are leading to self employment , Special camps and drives like health checkup camps enviro;nment protection HIV AIDS awareness etc are being organised , In 1983 received NLM UNESCO award for its outstanding work in the field of adult vocational training
