Jan Shikshan Sansthan Jodhpur

Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Jodhpur (erstwhile Shramik Vidyapeeth) is an NGO sanctioned and cent percent funded by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of School Education & Literacy), New Delhi. It is a registered society under the Rajasthan Societies Act of 1958. The JSS was established in the year 1985 under the aegis of Jodhpur Adult Education Association, a pioneer volunteer agency working in the field of adult education, non-formal education and women empowerment. , , During the past 25 years of its existence, the JSS has imparted vocational training in different trades to non-literates, semi-literates, economically deprived sections of the society and other persons with a little education. Every year our annual action plan is submitted to the Directorate of Adult Education, Government of India, New Delhi and as per their approval we conduct the courses. Our courses include cutting & tailoring, dress making, embroidery, Rajasthani dress making, basic computer courses, nursing assistant course, medical lab technician assistant course, house wiring and electrical training, plumbing, welding and fabrication, refrigeration and air conditioning, washing machine repair, rexene and canvas bag making, soft toys making etc. , , As per the revised policy of the Government of India, the area of operation of JSS has been spread over the entire district of Jodhpur instead of the city area as was earlier. The new motto of Sakshar Bharat is being launched in the entire country by the Ministry of HRD with the active participation of JSSs in rural areas to make literate about seven crore non-litertes.
