Integrated Women Development Institute (IWDI) is a registered charitable trust founded in the year 1989. IWDI is working more than 25 years to the welfare of the Poor , rural and destitute women and children. Promotion of integrated water, health, hygiene and sanitation in the area of Rural and urban. In women development we help them in the way of education and employment, income generation through micro finance.IWDI works closely with the support of corporation of chennai for rehabilitating and reintegrating the Homeless persons in Chennai city. We are running two shelter homes for women and men in the city. These homes capacited with 30 inmates . Responding to the emergencies is the major achievements of IWDI, IWDI responded to Tsunami and further cyclones in cuddalore and chennai , actively responded to Chennai floods from 2015 December.covered more than 5000 households with the support of emergency kits . IWDI also actively works in the promotion of Health , hygiene and sanitation promotion activities in chennai slums and Rural areas of Tiruvallur district.Artisan s identification and promoting their skills and knowledge for bringing the changes in the livelihood conditions. With the support of Ministry of Handicrafts we have conducted Design and technical development workshops and skill upgradation training to the benefit of artisans .
