India has vast and varied natural resources like minerals, forests, rivers, fertile soil etc. The country is engaged in implementing industrial, agricultural and other developmental programmes to achieve the status of a developed nation in the world by 2020. In this ambitious task, the scientists and technologist have a great role to play. Keeping this in view, the Institute of Advance Technology & Environmental Studies (IATES), Bhubaneswar, India, has been established in 1996 under a Registered Trust with an internationally reputed scientist & technologist Padmashree Prof. Dr. Prafulla Kumar Jena as its Founder Chairman to undertake various developmental and training programmes. A good number of distinguished scientists and engineers in the concern disciplines are actively associated with IATES. The Institute has also got unique infrastructural facilities for providing environment friendly technologies particularly in the areas of conservation and development of minerals and other natural resources, waste treatment and environment management. , , During the last 20 years, the IATES has made a number of contributions towards development of various resources, protection of environment, imparting training and carrying out awareness programmes in the concerned areas. , , 1. Symposia, Conferences, Workshops and Training programmes , , The Institute in order to communicate new ideas and technologies to personnel in different sectors has organized a good number of National and International Symposia and Conferences in different areas of interest with sponsorship from leading Central Government Ministries and Private industries. Since 1996 to date, 28 Symposia and Conferences have been organized by the Institute. The Institute has also offered special training and conducted Short Courses for scientists and engineers working in industries, research and educational organization. Since 1996, 17 such programmes have been carried out by the Institute. , , 3. Publication of Quarterly Journal entitled Journal of Sustainable Planet , , The Institute is bringing out a Quarterly Journal entitled Journal of Sustainable Planet since 2010.
