Greenc Initiatives

Greenc initiatives (GCI) mainly concentrates on livelihood based activities women. For this purpose, there are more than 60 Self-help Groups formed by the organization. The main activities of the organization includes development of modern agricultural practices, backyard plantations, bamboo plantations, development of kitchen gardens, etc. Women empowerment programmes are also implemented through the SHGs at the grassroots level. GCI have successfully linked all the SHGs with the district lead bank and many groups are engaged in income-generation activities. GCI has also initiated activities on awareness of forest rights in the operation area. The organization also works for betterment of education in the area in collaboration with Education Department and the local schools of the area. A Child Resource Centre have been established for grooming of children in primary schools. Other than these, GCI also have contributed in the health sector by organizing health camps and providing referral services.
