Special features of the organization

Major Achievements of activities could be as under: , 1. SHGs promoted more than 1500, 25 federations, 2 Farmer Producer Organizations and several issue based groups , 2. Agriculture development through context based package of practices and technologies and promotion of High Value crops, pulses and oilseeds with outreach of more than 11000 farmers. , Community based Disaster Risk Reduction at 3 Flood Prone locations in East UP & Bihar more than 75 villages. Early Warning Systems also established & functional. , 3. Women Literacy Programme with 50 centers & 1500 women for empowerment in eastern UP. , 4. Basic support and linkage with various Govt benefits to migrant construction workers in Lucknow. Vocational training to youth. , 5. Water Sanitation & Hygiene programme in more than 136 villages with SBM scheme of Govt with focus on CLTS approach & toilet uses. , 6. Promotion of Goat rearing on scintific lines with more than 2000 families in Ajmer & Lalitpur with local Pasu Sakhis. Dairy activities with proper livestock raising is being promoted. , 7. GDS also works as resource organization on community development themes and provide capacity building support to other stakeholders
