Special features of the organization
This FORUM started functioning with first AGM on 19th July 2001. The Constitution and by laws we drafted and approved on 17th November 2001 with a clear Moto of welfare of the retired civilian MES Officers. The first major step by the FORUM was taken when the 6th Central Pay Commission was constituted by the Govt. We submitted a detailed memorandum to the Chairman 6th CPC, which was followed by an oral evidence before the Commission. We find many of our proposals were included in the recommendations of the Commission. , We took up a case with the AHQ QMG branch for the CSD Canteen facilities to all the retired MES Civilians including the family pensioners of the MES Department. It took 11 years and the matter was resolved by the Present Defence Minister on 31st July 2015, when the facilities were extended to all the retired Defence civilians and the family pensioners after a long struggle. , This Forum applied and got registered under the Societies Act by registrar of Societies Govt. of NCT Delhi vide their registration number: S/61600/2008 dated 20th March 2008, under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. , Many lectures were arranged by the eminent personalities and doctors on the current topics and ailments such as Cancer and its cure, Alzimers ( Old age problems) and its precautions, Eye problems and its cure and financial management in the Old Age and action required to be taken for leading healthy life, without becoming a burden to the society. , This Forum applied to the Secretary Min. of PPG and Pension, Dept. of Pension and Pensioners Welfare for registration as an identified Association of Pensioners, presented our case to the Jt. Secretary Dept. of Pension and Pensioners Welfare and got approval of the Ministry on 7th Oct 2014 and simultaneously became member of the Sankalp Project monitored by the Ministry. , Meanwhile, on Constitution of 7th CPC, this Forum again submitted a Memorandum to Chairman 7th CPC keeping view all the vulnerable points for the retired civilians from MES Dept. As per directive of the Govt. all our members have contacted their banks for the life certificates likely to be submitted online. All the meetings arranged by the Secretary Min. of PPG & Pension were attended by the Gen. Secretary of our Forum and all instructions issued by the Dept. were implemented in letter and spirit. , Recently one of our members Shri Jagdish Popli, retired Chief Engineer, has volunteered for the help to one of the Primary school at Azad Pur Village in North Delhi under the Sankalp project. Further, all our efforts will be made to boost the Morale of the students and parents for the better education of the children under this scheme, Further, we should be able to contribute more, since many members are still actively working in various consultancy organisation/construction firms, as a Professor in reputed Universities etc. and have given their consent for contributing their services on various Govt. Welfare Schemes.
