Don Bosco Navjeevan

Don Bosco is an international organisation of repute that has been functioning in the city through its head office at Navjeevan Church at sector 24, Chandigarh. Don Bosco has just celebrated its 150 years of foundation on the 18th of December 2009. Besides providing Educational and Vocational training the Chandigarh office focuses on the key areas of Adult Education, Drug De Addiction, Self Help Groups (SHG) and Balwadis, Awareness cum Medical Camps, counselling centre, Life Skill Programmes,Community development Programmes, Education Programmes for Class X, XII, BA- Graduation,HIV-AIDS Target Intervention Programmes in Amritsar (Punjab) etc. , Don Bosco Centre offers life skills and personality development programmes for youngsters, especially from the slums / colonies. Basic and advanced computer literacy programmes twinned with spoken English classes. Non-formal vocational training is offered , in cosmetology, cutting and stitching and through self- , help projects etc , During their work in the slum colonies of Chandigarh, the staff of Don Bosco came across a number of children and adults with Special Needs. Don Bosco Sawera was formed that provides educational, vocational, community based services for children with special needs.
