About the organization

Special features of the organization

Bharathi Women Development Centre is a Voluntary, Community based service and Developmental Agency. It was formed by a committed and dedicated group of women mostly based on Rural areas of Thiruvarur District of Tamil Nadu in South India. It was started in 1985 and legally registered in 1987. Most of the members of the organization are women social workers, women actives and eminent persons in our area. , , The prime aim of the organization is women empowerment and also having objectives of rural development, child care, aged care, rehabilitation of handicaps and all round development of the rural community. , , Since 1985 it has been executing various developmental and welfare programmes for the benefit of its own target community / people. Since its inception it has been closely collaborating with the State Government, Central Government and other Foreign Funding Agencies. , , As our organization is two decade old organization we have got rich experience in implementing women development as well as rural development programmes like Mahalir Thittam ( SHGs ), Short Stay Home, Old Age Home, Family Counseling Centre, 15 Bedded De - Addiction Treatment Cum Rehabilitation Centre, Health Programmes including AIDS / HIV Environmental programmes, Creches, Women Employment Training Programmes, Income Generation programme for women, and other Rural Development Programmes.
