Bhanushali Sarvajanik Trust (B.S.T) major activities in brief (for more details visit bhanushalisarvajaniktrust.org.in)- , , 1) Watershed Program- , Constructed 15 Percolation Dam in 3 villages of Kutch District, cost - about Rs. 90 lakhs. 1,230 farmers benefitted and they gave employment to thousands of farm workers. 255 Women achieved financial independence through our handicraft training. Grouped 35 artisans and trained them to refine and market their products. , , 2) Social security- , In 2010, was recognized under Gujarat Governments Social Defense Department, to help widows, elderly, blind people etc... get their rights under government schemes. We inform them about schemes, fill up forms of it etc... , , 3) School- , In 2007, started Gujarati Medium High School (11th and 12th) and English Medium School from play house to 9th Standard (till 12th Standard in future) at Kothara - Abdasa Taluka. Around 60 students pass every year from our high school. Earlier, this entire area did not have High School or English Medium School. , , 4) ITI- , B.S.T started Industrial Training Institute (ITI) center for Wireman, Welder and Sewing-Cutting. We trained students and they received jobs because of it. , , 5) National language center- , B.S.T runs National language center for levels Pravesh to Ratna. Previously, there was no center in this area. Even government employees had to travel 100kms to the district capital Bhuj to give exams. , , 6) Adivasi/Tribal farmers- , GWRDC sanctioned 2 projects of Lifting Irrigation Scheme for providing irrigation facility to Adivasi/Tribal farmers at Bhimpura and Gunsuda villages of Tapi district. Pipelines were laid to provide irrigation to 120 hector farms of about 60 farmers, cost - about Rs. 90 lakhs. , , 7) Irrigation Administration- , Received AA Class recognition from Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. to provide water for irrigation from Narmada canal to farmers spread in 20,000 hector of Patan District (estimated Rs. 96 lakhs), creating farmer irrigation groups, providing training to farmers etc... This is currently ongoing. , , 8) Water recharging and underground tanks- , GWSSB sanctioned to B.S.T 5 check dams at 5 villages of Chota Udepur Taluka - cost of Rs. 1.56 crore, 7 check dams at Danta-Amirgadh Taluka, Water recharging work to supply clean drinking water in one village of Anjar Taluka. , , 9) Irrigation- , B.S.T built 30 check dams and causeways to recharge farmers bores, wells and to harvest rain water to be used for irrigation on thousands of acres of land, sanctioned under Gujarat Governments NWRWS and Kalpsar Department. , , Our other important activities are (For more details visit bhanushalisarvajaniktrust.org.in)- , 1. Rain water harvesting in schools (50,000 liters each) in 10 villages. , 2. Village Action Plan (V.A.P) 15 villages of Kankrej Taluka for potable water. , 3. Ambulance service in 166 villages. , 4. Sardar Avas Yojna in 4 villages and Indira Avas Yojna in 5 villages of Abdasa - Kutch. , 5. Water Harvesting work at Ratiyal Village of Bhuj Taluka by CAPART (Center Government). , 6. Heritage Architecture Preservation of Ramkund at Bhuj etc... under Gujarat Governments Archeological department , 7. Constructed 6 Khet Talavdi (Farm ponds) at the expense of Rs. 1.20 lakh in constantly draught affected areas. Seeing the benefits of it, the other farmers became aware and were inspired to build farm ponds in their farms at their own expense. , 8. Tackled Prosopis juliflora or gando baval menace in 8 villages, cost - Rs. 3.70 lakhs. We inspired people and converted it into a Peoples revolution converting the menace into an employment opportunity. Hence, creating a whole new industry. , 9. Cattle camps in 17 villages for about Rs. 1.40 crores - 18,000 cattle. , 10. Buttermilk centers in 119 villages of Kutch district, cost - Rs. 8 lakhs. , 11. Tree plantation and annual awareness program in 22 draught affected areas, cost - Rs. 6 lakhs - 4,000 trees planted and maintained till date. , 12. Health camps served around 18,000 patients in 107 villages. , 13. During natural disasters like Earthquakes, flood, excess rain, cyclones etc... at the cost of around Rs. 7.50 lakhs till date, we have distributed Food packets, grains, cereals, clothes, tarpaulin (talpatri), provided temporary prefabricated housing facilities etc... as relief material. , 14. 2001 Kutch earthquake- B.S.T helped 2,200 families in constructing houses by giving 1,250 tonnes of iron and 50,000 bags of cement at concessional rates. , 15. We conduct Environmental Awareness programs in rural areas under the guidance of VIKSAT - Ahmedabad. , , B.S.T is also certified and recognized under- , 1. U/s 80G of income tax , 2. F.C.R.A , 3. United India Insurance Company Limited for Micro Insurance , 4. Professional Tax Department , 5. Gujarat Matikam Kalakari Board
