Education: At 3066Primary and Upper Primary Schools of Komana& Nuapada Block of Nuapada &220 Schools of Bargarh & Sohela Block of Bargarh District facilitating Aflatoun Child Social and Financial Programme.The Aflatoon progromme envisage poverty reduction by equipping children with the knowledge, Skills and Confidence to become self reliant citizen whose sense of social and financial responsibility propel them to create more equitable society in future with following objectives: , To make the children aware of child Rights & to develop in children, a sense of responsibility , To make children understand what their needs are & learn to prioritize them and look for ways to be able to fulfil necessities in their life. , To instil in children, a sense of pride at their ability to intervene in their own world. , To inculcate the habit of savings among children. , To develop in children, the ability to handle money. , To encourage children to think their own, identify right from wrong and to look at things from a scientific perspective. , To give children the opportunities to think and plan for their future and take related decision. , To provide exposure to banking operation and financial education. , The banking activity and the issue based work; linking day-to-day realities of life of the children will motivate children to come to school. , , COMMUNITY HEALTH: , Strengthening existing child health services , Essential newborn care (Breast feeding, warmth, Hygiene, cord care and recognition of danger signs) , Immunization , Skilled care at and after birth , Control of diarrhoeal diseases and ARI , Breastfeeding and complementary feeding , Micronutrient supplementation (Vitamin A, Iron) , Besides above stated micro monitoring and counselling we also work for , Facilitating Village Health Plan , Organizing School Health Programe , Organizing & Facilitating Community Monitoring on Routine Immunization , Counselling for at least 3 Antenatal Check up and Institutional delivery , Monitoring Pulse Polio Programme at Nuapada and Bolangir District with the support of NPSP- WHO , , AGRICULTURE: , , ASHA supports village communities in undertaking sustainable management of natural resources through a variety of interventions and bringing change in the cultivation Practices also by promoting community forestry and horticulture, land and water conservation and development. Our specific interventions are as follows: , Promoting Land based crop cultivation -34 acre , Facilitating Soil testing & Soil Health Promotional Measures-100 farmers , Facilitating Mix Cropping-15 farmers , Training on Dry land farming, Mix cropping,- 20 farmers , Training on Land, water & Soil Management-40 farmers , Promoting Organic farming & Vegetable cultivation- 23 farmers , Community Organization: , , The premise is that the engagement with the development process initiated by ASHA is a springboard to enable the community to tackle all other development issues that it faces in a holistic manner by using Village Planning as a tool. , , Community Forestry: , , ASHA motivates communities to collectively manage their forests and horticulture plantations. Communities have been motivated to regenerate common and private wastelands by growing trees for fuel, fruit, fodder and timber and also develop horticulture patches. These community forests and horticultural plots help to protect the local environment. The process of management and sharing benefits enhances cohesiveness of the communities and also yields substantial incomes.
