ASHABORI WELFARE SOCIETY FOR DISABLE

ASHABORI WELFARE SOCIETY is a non political, non profitable and secular organisation which was established on May 2002 and formally inaugurated by Swami Divyananda Maharaj, Secretary Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar, Agartala on 11th May 2002 at Mouchak Club premise, Agartala. The organization is registered under Society registration act 1860 and PWDs Act. 1995 registration No. 29 0f 2015 with an aim to support physically challenged persons. The organization started its journey as an Art and Painting institute for the blind persons. Though the aim of the organization was to teach art and painting to blind only, but feeling the psychological aspect, the facility was extended to other categories of disabled. From its Ashabori Welfare Society has been working for the betterment of the life of physically challenged persons by organizing art exhibition for blind persons, skill development program, medical camp, sports and cultural programs etc. With the aim to promote co-working ecosystem of both physically challenged and physically non challenged peoples, Ashabori welfare society has expand its area of interest to both physically challenged and physically non challenged people from last few years. This will not only improve the social position of physically challenged persons but also improve their livelihood. In this regard the organization already stared different programs like workshop, exhibition, sports and cultural activities for both physically challenged and physically non challenged persons. Thus Ashabory Welfare Society has been committed to improvement of the society and always ready to take any initiative for the betterment of the Society.
