About Job Profile

Training and Teaching

Quest Alliance has been working in the secondary schools for the past few years. In 2020, we rolled out a program to build 21st century skills and STEM mindsets among adolescent girls (grade 8 and 9) from government schools in Odisha. One of the key areas of QUEST’s work is around building computational thinking among adolescents and youths.

In Odisha we intend to work with 1075 secondary schools across 30 districts of the state to enable adolescents to build computational thinking and skills to code. 

We are looking for an experienced person who has worked in the area of training and content earlier with a focus on government school systems.

The role of the Training Officer is going to be critical in supporting the overall content development, review and the capacity building strategy in the region. Having good command and understanding of working in Ed-Tech programmes will be beneficial.

The major task of the person will be to develop training & content for students to build computational skills including coding and design learning experiences for students and teachers.

Primary Responsibilities include

Training Delivery, Coordination, and Management  

  • Lead & support the state anchors on Training & Capacity building of internal & external teams for all states of a cascade program with blended learning approach.
  • Creating training designs, facilitating training of trainers, attending training, giving feedback on training and other program-related aspects and so on.
  • Operational oversight of all capacity building aspects of different projects across the states: MCT, Skills build such as conduction of virtual webinars, weekly/fortnightly catch ups with the teams.
  • Coordinating with the Ed-tech team on the smooth implementation of MCT courses across the states.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on the monitoring and evaluation tools for the scale program. 


Contribute to the Quality implementation of MCT & Skills build 

  • Making sure the recognition strategy is implemented in all the states. 
  • Coordinating with the Communication team in design posters or videos or app-related content to support the implementation of the program. 
  • Making regular monitoring visits to interact with the team, oversee school implementation, and ensure program objectives are met.
  • Collect feedback on Tool-kits (Quest App and Skill build) from state teams & teachers periodically.


Reporting

  • Support the Monitoring and Evaluation team in design tools, coordinating to conduct research in different states to assess the impact. 
  • Facilitate timely reviews with state teams about the program implementation.
  • Collect and prepare monthly or quarterly reports on the training insights and recommendations from all the states, as per the requirement.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Hands-on experience with working on coding/ computational  skills/ STEM and life and career skills for school students
  • Prior experience working in government schools
  • Prior experience of facilitating training and workshops for the Govt. Teachers and officials at district/state level
  • Willingness to learn and influence prevalent practices in the education ecosystem
  • Deep understanding of the National Education Policy and State Curriculum Framework 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams
