Primary Responsibilities include:

• The candidate will be responsible for qualitative implementation of all community based intervention programmes including; socio economic surveys, alternate energy resources, cropping pattern change/improvements, selection of beneficiaries with consultation, awareness building among villagers and students through community managed education centres educators and volunteers and driving behavioural changes.
• Implementation and follow up, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of activities with field assistants, volunteers, State Forest Department, other government and Non- Government agencies as per the Project Implementation Plan (PIP).
• Attend all wildlife conflict emergencies with the Rapid Response Team (RRT) in the Terai Landscape.
• Assist the community in averting Human Wildlife Conflicts (HWC), development of early warning system, filing of ex gratia support, convergence of government schemes beneficial in averting/reducing HWC in the area.
• Collect data of all the conflict cases attended/handled, conduct preemptive and post conflict amelioration meetings with stakeholders at the villages and feed into the centralised monitoring system.
• Coordinate with the Primary Response Teams (PRT) along with the RRT in capacity building, training and community engagement in high conflict areas.
• Collect data and information for evaluation of the PRT’s and other project activities as per the monitoring formats.
• Strategic long term planning of the project activities in consultation with the Head/PI following the current paradigm and principles of social science and wildlife conservation.

Administrative and Financial Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance of all assets (including field camp of posting) of the organisation including stock registers and their periodic verification, in the area of activity.
• Provide content for websites and participate in dissemination and outreach.
• Responsible for all quality monthly/activity reports, maintenance of log book and vehicles at place of posting, photographic documentation of activities, submission of data sheets etc as per the requirements of the project.
• Represent the organisation whenever required or an opportunity arises.

• Possess good knowledge of socio economic surveys and other study methodologies, PRA, sustainable livelihoods framework and approaches, knowledge and convergence of government schemes, driving behavioural change, statistics and data analysis.
• Patient listener with communities during conflict situations, team builder and motivator.
• Proficient in reading and writing Hindi and English.
• The field work would involve travelling, trekking, hiking, vehicle driving where there may be some personal risk.
• The person should possess knowledge of driving two -wheelers with a valid licence for work.
