About Job Profile

Support and office management

As a Social and Gender Officer at WOTR, you will play an instrumental role in fostering community engagement, driving social mobilization, and implementing rural development initiatives across assigned villages. You will conduct village-level meetings, distribute resources, and support local NGOs and Self-Help Groups in project execution.

Your work will also involve active participation in sustainable agricultural practices, data collection for research, and report generation. Additionally, you will facilitate government linkages for village development and conduct various project-level trainings related to agriculture, social issues, and women empowerment. 

Primary Responsibilities include

  • Conduct initial meetings in all the assigned villages with the communities, Panchayat Raj Institution Representatives, SHGs members, Farmers groups, village Organisations (VO), and VDC members on project objectives
  • Communicate all tools prepared by WOTR at village level
  • Assist NGOs and Self-Help Groups in the social mobilization and organisational aspects of project implementation
  • Assist in agricultural activities in the project area and provide assistance to VSHGs in sustainable agricultural practices, planning and implementation
  • Be responsible for preparation of the physical and financial reports of the projects
  • Support research unit to collect the data for impact study, case study, Photo documentation etc.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the organization from time to time
  • Be responsible for social operations related to a specific job
  • Assist in the social mobilization and organizational aspects of project implementation
  • Assist in planning, execution and monitoring as well as assist in monitoring and reviewing of activities in the project area. Experience in project management will be an added skill
  • Build linkages between between Govt. and line department for village development
  • Attend Gram Sabha, farmer group meetings (as per requirement) and conduct meetings
  • Conduct, agriculture, social and women relate project level trainings

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of the Local Language and Hindi
  • Experience in development sector would be added advantage
  • Familiarity with work related to child growth monitoring, life skill training, gender training, training of adolescent girl child, advocacy of women empowerment issues
