Under the direct supervision of the SBC Specialist the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Development and implementation of digital innovation strategy
Review existing literature, synthesize global and in-country experiences on the use of digital innovation strategies for SBC
Develop a draft digital strategy for SBC; scope the digital tools and solutions most relevant for adaptation to the digital innovation, identify and explore partnerships for digital solutions for SBC
Support the use of the U-Report platform for SBC initiatives, including online surveys and promotion.
Support the management of the SBCC Alliance’s social media platforms through development of posts, tweets etc. (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
Assist in organizing meetings with UNICEF’s internal and external stakeholders to learn from and leverage partners’ for adoption/implementation of the digital innovation strategy encompassing key priorities, ensure the strategy is cognizant of UNICEF’s agenda of reaching the last mile
Assist in the roll out of the digital innovation strategy – which may include but is not limited to planning, execution, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring the roll out in close coordination with SBC and programme colleagues
Support SBC staff in accelerating the delivery of development and humanitarian programmes for children through innovative digital solutions and partnerships, with a commitment to government systems strengthening and sustainability.
Develop and manage IoGT India
Work in close collaboration with SBC and programme colleagues, IoGT Regional Team, to develop and coordinate the implementation/ implement IoGT India
Learn the IoGT content management system, build the capacity of relevant colleagues to support with implementation, adapt the IoGT monitoring and evaluation plan for India
Work in close collaboration with IoGT regional team and SBC Specialist to develop and implement IoGT Promotion Strategy and Launch Plan ensuring that it meets IoGT guidelines
Scope partnerships for the promotion and use of IoGT India
Work with ROSA Team , SBC Specialists and colleagues to ensure promotional, partnership, localization, IoGT Content Calendar and User Engagement Calendar are developed and implemented
In collaboration with colleagues sets-up IoGT M&E plan, report regularly to key partners using technical report quarterly/six monthly, Monitor and evaluate usage of IoGT and understand incentives and constraints involved between high-level users and low-level users
Establish and maintain clear documentation on IoGT India implementation and operations using corporate KM tools (ECM, SharePoint, Yammer etc.) including leading on the documentation of IoGT achievements through blogs and articles on UNICEF/partners/national/international press websites.
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
