About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

The Senior Program Officer – Knowledge Management and Learning (SPO – KM&L) shall provide assistance, guidance and oversight to project-level knowledge management practices and systems across PATH's South Asia portfolio.

The SPO – KM&L will ensure that the foundational building blocks for knowledge generation and knowledge sharing are in place within programs, country, and regional teams.

He/she will play a key role in producing learning materials to support our programs, such as handbooks, reports, tools, trainings, case studies, and more. Additionally, the SPO – KM&L will manage a team of officers and associates as direct reports and facilitate their work in developing knowledge products and maintaining knowledge repositories.

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly skilled writer and researcher, capable of quickly synthesizing information, making connections to larger themes and concepts, and communicating information effectively to target audiences across many types of media.

Primary Responsibilities include

Lead a team of long-and short-term knowledge management and documentation specialists to provide technical and advisory services in planning, developing, collating and disseminating knowledge products related to PATH programs in South Asia.


Lead consultations and deliberations with the PATH program teams and other key informants to develop knowledge management and documentation plan for various projects, focusing on intervention processes, evidence, results and lessons learnt for documentation.


Draft knowledge products, such as case studies, presentations, process documentation, project reports, success stories, handbooks/guidance documents, policy briefs, white papers, manuscripts and other documents etc., in consultation with the relevant program team members. For this,

  • Conduct background literature review from data/ information available in public domain or as made available by the PATH program teams;
  • Edit and proofread technical and learning documents for voice and style, content and coherency, and connection to PATH program goals and core themes;
  • Undertake data visualizations and making presentations;
  • Develop and design training modules and undertake capability assessment of officials and service providers; and
  • Guide layout of KM products in PATH/ project templates, aligned with PATH and donor branding guidelines.

Support program teams in knowledge dissemination, which could include identifying knowledge sharing platforms, development of collaterals for knowledge sharing (like presentation decks) and facilitating, organizing and conducting knowledge sharing sessions. For this, as and when required,

  • Oversee the development and printing of training and learning materials;
  • Closely co-ordinate, as required, with government, national and international stakeholders.
  • Explore areas for engaging with partner institutions to undertake knowledge and learning exchange.

Promote knowledge sharing across the South Asia hub and between hubs in the Asia, Middle East and Europe (AMEE) region.


Provide periodic updates to the organization's leadership, Lead – Business Performance and program teams on progress with respect to the work assigned.


Available to travel up to 30% of the time, as and when required.


Any other work, as assigned from time to time, by Lead – Business Performance.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Should have proficiency in creative and analytical writing, in English. Reading, writing, and editing fluency in Hindi is desirable.

Should have an understanding of public health issues in India and role of various stakeholders.

Computer proficiency with familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents.

Should demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Willingness to take initiative and demonstrate personal ownership and work under pressure.

Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.

Candidate should be flexible, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and an energetic team player.
