Project Management/Coordination

As a Senior Manager for a Project Management Unit (PMU) at Dhwani Rural Information Systems, you will lead the seamless management of our client’s projects, specifically their pan-India Disaster Relief program. Serving as the pivotal link between the client and our internal teams, you will lead the execution and contribute to strategy to achieve program goals.

Your role spans understanding the client’s vision and goals, the program’s nuances, managing internal and external stakeholders, innovating and scaling program design and operations, and steering software solution discussions if required and.

You will be reporting to the Engagement Manager of the PMU, lead a team of 2-3 members, and work with a team of 10+ peers. Primary Responsibilities include

Project Management – Related Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Provide strong leadership to internal program team, ensuring clarity of purpose and effective collaboration with the client and other stakeholders. Oversee the successful execution of program, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, and internal and external stakeholders. Communicate program progress, challenges, and milestones to the client in a transparent and timely manner.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and optimize resources within the program to meet strategic objectives based on discussions with the client. Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocation as needed.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with program delivery and develop mitigation plans. Proactively manage and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular status reports to client’s leadership and stakeholders.


Programme/Project Strategy-related Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of streamlined operations: Own process design, implementation, monitoring, and improvement for disaster relief work across India.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement program strategies in alignment with the program objectives and discussions with the client.
  • Budget Oversight: Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met based on discussions with the client.
  • Program Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success based on discussions with the client. Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the program.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Identify opportunities for scale and innovation through new partnerships, technology, and/or process improvements.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to align program objectives with broader organizational strategies and experience in developing and implementing effective program strategies.
  • Strong track record in building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, coupled with effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Skill and experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), data analysis, software development will be preferred
