About Job Profile

Research and Field Work

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled researchers to join the Communications & Media Department, with expertise in conducting research and advocacy in the dynamic field of digital, with initiatives that advance a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the digital ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in research methodologies, data analysis, and a demonstrated passion to lead research and advocacy activities in this domain.
 

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  • Conduct in-depth research on questions of digital rights and development, trends, policies, and their societal impacts.
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research, develop research and evaluation frameworks and data collection strategies, and produce technical reports, policy briefs, blog articles, newsletter articles, peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters in this domain.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate research insights into the organization's strategies, projects, and policies.
  • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to drive collaborative initiatives, workshops, and events related to digital research and advocacy.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Summarise and develop reports, white papers, and presentations to communicate findings effectively to internal stakeholders, partners, external audiences and the funding agency.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Coordinate and network with research/project partners, organisations, and stakeholders at national and international levels.
  • Possesses skills in planning and designing research initiatives with an in-depth understanding of the policy environment around questions relating to digital.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools, research software, data visualization tools, and programming languages may be required or preferred.
  • Should be updated about the advances in the field of digital technology and its relationship to questions of human rights and development.
  • Showcase excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to handle tasks independently and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and work effectively as a team member.
