About Job Profile

Research and Field Work

Research Associate is a key role within the Sewa Fellowship team, focusing on doing the necessary research for social development by conducting online research, collaborating with academicians, developing thought-and-action frameworks, and creating capacity-building content for young development professionals and NGO leaders.

The role requires a structured thinker with a background in public policy/social work/psychology, proficiency in MS Office tools, and the willingness to travel for meetings with academicians and practitioners. The ideal candidate should have excellent research and analytical skills, be comfortable with online research methodologies, be a conversational researcher, and possess the ability to develop robust frameworks for the social development sector.

Primary Responsibilities include

 

   Conduct secondary research and collaborate with academicians and experts, both in India and globally, to gather insights and knowledge for research and capacity-building purposes for social development for leadership development.

    Analyze research findings, synthesize information, and apply structured thinking to develop robust frameworks to guide the social development processes and nurture leadership.

    Create engaging and impactful capacity-building content for courses targeting young development professionals and NGO leaders, including training modules, curriculum development, session planning, and resource creation.

    Assist and Conduct meetings and discussions with academicians and practitioners, both in-person and virtually, to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration.

    Travel to attend meetings, conferences, and workshops as necessary, to meet with academicians and practitioners and gather relevant insights.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of public policy and its implications for the social development sector in India.

Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating documents, presentations, and data analysis.

Excellent online research skills, with the ability to gather information from diverse sources and critically evaluate their credibility and relevance.

Strong analytical and structured thinking abilities to develop robust frameworks.

Ability to collaborate effectively with academicians, professionals, and stakeholders.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Demonstrated experience in creating capacity-building content, training materials, or educational resources is preferred

Familiarity with the non-profit sector and understanding of social development issues in India.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
