About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

Coordinate with the Project Director and Project Coordinator(s) for the implementation of the project. Liaison with local technical institutes like ITI, and BTech/Diploma Colleges [follow EDII norms] with whom community outreach & mobilization and, all workshops and training programmes can be carried out.

Primary Responsibilities include

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of mobilization, implementing training, bank linkages, market linkages, credit facilitation, funding schemes, Govt. subsidiary schemes and registration procedures.
  • Post Skill-based Entrepreneurship training follow up and handholding, motivating, capacity building of the entrepreneurs to set up sustainable enterprises.
  • Preparation of training manuals and SOPs as per training program needs
  • Researching to identify business opportunities and potential markets.
  • Ability to manage multiple enterprises concurrently and meet deadlines as per the project plan.
  • Understanding the right ideas best practices and technological solutions for business
  • Facilitate Business Plan Formulation, funding and infra set-up for enterprises
  • Should have strong executive presence and excellent convincing skills ability to hold own point of view in tough conversations.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training & delegate responsibilities to entrepreneurs enabling their economic growth & development.
  • Continuously look for better, efficient & cost-effective solutions to improve productivity, scalability & demand-supply as required.
  • Travelling to the field is required
  • Timely reporting to the Project Director and the sponsoring agency on all activities and developments of the Project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Master’s Degree in Rural Management/Social Work/ Development/Education and interest in working with youths, rural women and the SHG community
  • Must have a total of 5+ years of experience and at least 2 years’ experience in Microenterprise/ Entrepreneurship Development/ Self Employment/ Livelihood/ Women’s related schemes and projects. Academic background in technical education is an added advantage
  • The candidate should possess good documentation and reporting skills, a high degree of computer literacy, data analysis ability and good communication skills with fluency in English.
  • The candidate must have experience in liaising with various government stakeholders and managing project teams remotely.

About Organisation

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), an autonomous and not-for-profit Institute, set up in 1983, is sponsored by apex financial institutions - the IDBI Bank Ltd., IFCI Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd. and State Bank of India (SBI). The Government of Gujarat pledged twenty-three acres of land on which stands the majestic and sprawling EDI campus.


To pursue its mission further, EDII has helped set up twelve state-level exclusive entrepreneurship development centres and institutes. One of the most satisfying achievements, however, was taking entrepreneurship to a large number of schools, colleges, science and technology institutions and management schools in several states by including entrepreneurship inputs in their curricula. In view of EDII’s expertise in Entrepreneurship, the University Grants Commission appointed the EDII as an expert agency to develop curriculum on Entrepreneurship. 


EDII’s success led by its strong sense of commitment culminated in recognition of its achievements by the Government of India and various state governments.
