Rise Against Hunger India envisions a world without hunger. Our mission is to nourish lives, empower communities, respond to emergencies and build a movement of hunger action champions.

While communities work toward a future in which they can thrive, vulnerable families and individuals around the globe still have basic, immediate needs. That’s why Rise Against Hunger India supports safety net programs that provide nourishment, as well as additional skills training or services that support the difficult journey out of poverty.

Rise Against Hunger India meals are provided in schools to encourage increased enrollment and attendance. Meals distributed in hospitals and clinics supplement nutritional needs of patients recovering from TB, Cancer, HIV/AIDS and complement their treatments.

For community empowerment programs, Rise Against Hunger India focuses on sustainable food security through community-based projects on climate smart agriculture, land and soil management, food production, storage and marketing, introduction of new technologies for small farmers.

Rise Against Hunger India aims to increase agricultural production and incomes through programs promoting improved agricultural methods, business skills, and market access. We work with smallholder farmers to build resilience to the shocks and stresses of climate change by promoting ecological approaches to agriculture as well as diversification. Our recent SAMBAL Initiative aims to support rural households in hunger pockets in the country through farm and non-farm interventions.
