Project Management/Coordination

International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) with the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, and Farmers’ Welfare has established IRRI-South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is a regional facility that supports research collaboration, training, and service provision to institutions, scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders from India and other South Asian and African nations. Recently the government of India has accorded approval for ISARC phase 2 through MOU with IRRI to implement next phase activities up to 2027.

It has three verticals: Centre of Excellence in Rice Value Addition (CERVA), Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture (CESA), and Centre of Education, Innovation, and Research for Development (CEIRD).
 
Under the guidance of the South Asia Breeding lead, IRRI is seeking applications forms for a dynamic and highly innovative Data Manager to ensure effective coordination of the project with network partners, specifically focusing on the compilation of phenotyping data, project report compilation, and preparation of finance reports. The individual in this role will be responsible for facilitating seamless communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate compilation of phenotyping data from various sources.

Additionally, they will oversee the compilation of project reports, consolidating and organizing information to provide comprehensive updates on project progress and outcomes. Furthermore, the position will involve working closely with the finance department to prepare financial reports, ensuring transparency and accountability in project expenditure. By coordinating these essential aspects of the project, the individual will contribute to efficient project management, effective communication with network partners, and the overall success of the initiative.
 

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  • Facilitate effective coordination and collaboration between the DBT, project coordinating center and network partners.
  • Collect and compile phenotyping data from all the center for smooth use in result analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports that document progress, outcomes, and recommendations.
  • Communication and information sharing among project stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to budgetary guidelines for the project.
  • Coordinate closely with the DBT, ISARC and other NAREs collaborators, to ensure smooth flow of data and SOPs.
  • Engage with ISARC to help build effective communication with donor agency, coordinator and network partners
  • Verify the progress of the activities as defined by the agreed plans and objectives
  • Record all the phenotypic data generated in the program
  • Time to time submission of financial report/contribute to visits, meetings, workshops, farmers' fairs, and any such events at ISARC and outside.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by DBT/ISARC Director, Supervisor.
