• Oversee program delivery at the hospital and manage the relevant project staff, provide technical support to the team as and when required.
• Coordinate and build relationships and ensure clear communication with various stakeholders at hospital, state, district and block level like government, academia, research organizations, INGOs and local NGOs.
• Ensuring set up of KMC Unit, its utility, and its maintenance as per hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Arrange duties of staff nurses deployed at the KMC Unit and ensuring round-the-clock services to beneficiaries.
• Ensuring close monitoring and follow up of enrolled mother-baby dyad in the KMC Unit and after discharge (adherence to admission and discharge criteria). Ensure the doctor’s advice is being implemented.
• Compile and review clinical records/reports in formats and available system, use that information to seek guidance from clinicians and technical team to improve the care delivered through the KMC Unit, and use information for developing case studies.
• Improve the quality of data collected about the babies and their care. Recognize and correct mistakes in records and data collected.
• Representing the organization at state/district/block level when required.
• Identify gaps, carrying out needs and resources assessment related to Breastfeeding and KMC program, suggesting expansion or reduction of the project.
• Providing support in RMNCH+A implementation or part of its implementation within the assigned state(s).
• Assisting in drafting of concepts/proposals/budgets for scale up of the intervention in potential future areas for submission to funding bodies.
• Conducting training needs assessment and supporting training and capacity building of the team and relevant frontline health workers.
• Identifying research needs and draft research questions for potential research among projects under direct supervision.
• Supporting the Research and M&E teams to document and publish program findings.
