About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

 

  • To contribute towards Tdh’s Health system strengthening approach through capacity development initiatives. 
  • To support Tdh Health and WASH initiative through proper implementation of Health, WaSH and capacity development components of the programme.
  • To support in supervising all activities connected to the Tdh Health and WaSH projects being implemented by partner organisations. 
  • To promote visibility of Tdh and its work to stakeholders.

 

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  • Supporting Tdh health and WaSH team in effective management of Health & WaSH programme as the priority commitment.
  • Monitoring of project and programme progress by measuring activities and outcomes against the agreed indicators and time bar chart 
  • Supporting partner team in assessment of WaSH services in healthcare facilities (HCFs), designing WaSH improvement plans involving HCF authorities and local authorities.
  • On site supervision of the projects, in close collaboration with partner organizations.
  • Monitoring of WaSH renovation /construction works by partner team through frequent field visits.
  • Mentoring and handholding support partner team in conducting orientation of WASH FIT tool to HCF authorities and local authorities.
  • Supporting partner team in capacity building of cleaning service providers in HCFs on infection, prevention and control measures.
  • Liaising with authorities at HCF and local self-government following system strengthening approach. 
  • Leading the advocacy initiatives along with partner team in the project through establishing good working relationships with all stakeholders – district health authorities, HCF authorities, PRI and local administration. 
  • Visiting field areas to provide supportive supervision to partner team in effective implementation of project activities. 
  • Contributing to proposal development for Health and WASH programme. 
  • Ensuring timely and quality delivery of the agreed outcomes of the projects as outlined in the project proposals and thus contribute to the overall project/programme success. 
  • Contributing to planning, monitoring and technical support in WaSH components of other projects, as agreed with the Line Manager.
  • Participating in assessment of new projects areas
  • Contributing to development of the monitoring tools and orienting the partner staff. 
  • Contributing towards development, implementation and monitoring of the digital tools for Wash
  • Supporting Tdh Health and WaSH team in reviewing and monitoring of monthly financial report submitted by partner team.
  • Supporting Tdh Health and WaSH team in monitoring expenditure and review of budgets in line project budget forecast.
  • Regular coordination with the Finance team of Tdh for efficient financial monitoring of the projects.
  • Encouraging effective teamwork and provide support, especially on issues related to crossdepartmental collaboration and harmonizing approaches.
  • Contributing to a positive working environment by pro-actively searching the dialogue with other team members (or with the line manager in case need arises) and trying to understand the others’ point of view.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Good understanding of and technical skills in Health and WaSH, particularly in the development sector and the Indian context.
  • Good understanding of health system and flagship programmes and policies in India, particularly in West Bengal.
  • Good knowledge of the Panchayati Raj System in West Bengal. 
  • Good understanding of community systems and framework that exists and their involvement in the functioning of the health system. 
  • Experience of working with health system and strong skill for advocacy. 
  • Proactive, rigorous and a results-driven attitude
  • Confirmed experience in a similar job in the field.
  • A strong team spirit and collaboration
