About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

The Programme Officer will work with the Programme Head of the Sustainable Fisheries Programme and other relevant institutional personnel. The is a mid-level management role within the organisation and involves a combination of technical and administrative work towards the smooth functioning of the programme

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  • Oversee day-to-day administration, assist, plan and supervise ongoing research and intervention
  • projects under the Sustainable Fisheries programme.
  • Communicate with various donors and government agencies, write and coordinate project reports,
  • track timelines and deliverables, and ensure reporting requirements are met.
  • Track financial management in coordination with Dakshin’s Finance team.
  • Develop and maintain systems for documentation and tracking of projects under the programme.
  • Strategize programme expansion (thematically and geographically) with the Programme Head and
  • write funding proposals for continuity and growth.
  • Facilitate regular communication of programme activities through reports, outreach materials, social
  • media, etc., and internal capacity building for communication and outreach.
  • Coordinate and work with other teams at Dakshin as part of cross-programmatic collaborative
  • projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in and contribute to matters of institutional upkeep and management as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Candidates with relevant work experience of over 5 years will have an advantage.
  • Prior experience working on small-scale fisheries will be an advantage. A working knowledge of one or more South Indian languages spoken in the Indian coasts will be an advantage.
