About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

A Program Officer is an integral part of a foundation or nonprofit organization. It is up to Program Officers to oversee program development, seek grants and proposals, manage projects and oversee budgets.

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  • Support in the Macro level assessment by developing neighbourhood level land use, land cover maps for vulnerability assessment and hotspot identification. The process will utilize understanding and skillset for remote sensing, data visualization, satellite imagery analyses, along with integration of valuable data from OpenStreetMap, while also referencing other base maps.
  • Carry out micro level assessment for the identified hotspots for Urban Heat, Flood and Air Quality, by developing maps to identifying the issues and help prepare and design the potential solutions for the same.
  • Support the documentation process for the Climate action plans for cities and its related assessments, drawing correlations with the historical dataset to produce the exiting narrative around GHG emissions inventory.
  • Support analyses from the historical datasets – City maps (LULC, Building footprint, Vulnerability maps, Digital elevation maps, etc.), historical Weather Data (1900-2022), historical disaster maps, climate projections.
  • Maintain good relationship and coordination with supporting AKAH team and respond to the queries and work assigned to them related to GIS.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor and ground truthing of the micro assessments and data procured and collated for the Climate action plan.
  • To ensure that relevant project documents are complete, current, and maintained appropriately and shared with concerned AKAH team members.
  • Produce relevant graphics, charts, presentations for documentation process supporting the concerned AKAH team members.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Experience in development sector is desirable.
  • Expertise in GIS is a must.
  • Coordination with relevant AKAH team members for effective implementation and delivery of work within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Desire to work dedicatedly to achieve results.
  • Knowledge of software – MS office, Google earth pro, Adobe, ArcGIS.
  • Language skills – English, Hindi and Marathi is preferred.
