About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  •     Developing and maintaining a goods and services requisition process.
  •     Preparing documentation required for the procurement of goods (materials for nurseries, plantation and construction, machineries & implements, packaging and marketing, etc.) and services (consulting and non-consulting services);
  •     Issuing procurement document with specifications, quotations (cost estimates, work schedules, etc.), evaluation criteria.
  •     Completing procurement orders, goods and services requisition, and supervise updation of stock database/registers.
  •     Assisting the Director (Nursery and Reforestation) as well as Operations Director in drafting procurement manuals and guidelines for nursery and operations.
  •     Ensuring full knowledge and systematic application of the procurement guidelines for nursery and operations.
  •     Developing and maintaining a supply chain flow process and link to the update stocks database/register.
  •     Assisting in preparing and updating the project procurement plan at regular intervals.
  •      Managing the procurement of goods required for field level activities
  •     Providing relevant information and suggesting possible solutions on any procurement related issue.
  •     Building procurement and contract management capacity building of staffs.
  •     Acting as a support and reference person for all project-related procurement tasks.
  •     Submitting quarterly procurement progress reports to the Nursery and Operations Directors.
  •     Acting as supervisory line for dealing with enquiries and complaints on procurement orders.
  •     Be involved in the preparation of a calendar of operations with Nursery managers and Director (Nursery and Reforestation) for Collection of Seeds, Cuttings and other inputs such as garden soil, manures and bio-fertilizers from authenticated sources.
  •     Prepare contract agreement with private and corporate nurseries for making available seeds, cuttings and other inputs for plantation projects.
  •     Participation in planning meetings, keeping records and reports and reporting on a regular basis.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English.
  • Ability to work independently, with experience in the mountainous regions with high precipitation.
  • Adaptability to a new work environment and staying and working with local communities.
  • A valid driver’s licence as well as an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to interact with communities and record data in steep, rugged terrain and inclement weather.
  • Experience using Excel or Google spreadsheet or database for maintaining an updated stock is required along with use of other stock taking software for data collection and collation.
  • Supervisory experience. Excellent Internal (within organisation and team) and external (with government and private stakeholders)communication skills.
  • Good understanding of stocks in natural resources management sector.
  • Project and time management skills that utilise digital management tools.
  • Knowledge of the local language Khasi.
  • Strong prioritisation, staging, and sequencing skills.
