About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

National Project Officer (Strategic Partnerships & Resource Mobilization) will develop a resources mobilization strategy for UNESCO MGIEP outlining domestic and global public funds, private sector and CSR funds, UN joint funds and other SDG fund opportunities in addition to bilateral/multilateral donors. S/he will lead the implementation of the strategy including proposal/concept note development and follow-up for successful outcomes for the Institute.

S/he will provide strategic advice and authoritative guidance to senior management on systematic monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of the funds mobilized.  S/he will apply and play a key role in promoting the principles of results-based management (RBM). The staff will be a member of the senior management group of the Institute.

Primary Responsibilities include

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Excellent knowledge of the programming cycle.
  • Excellent knowledge of the theories, principles, methods, practices, and techniques of programme funding formulation.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to establish priorities, coordinate and monitor work plans.
  • Ability to analyze, justify selection, and appraisal of project proposals.
  • Ability to summarize complex issues into user-friendly guidance notes and concept papers.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and build sound relationships with counterparts in donor countries.
  • Ability to catalyze new ideas, methods, and applications to pave a path for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse group of partners from a range of disciplines and forge productive working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing, with strong representation skills.
  • Political awareness and understanding of socio-economic factors.
  • Demonstration out-of-the-box thinking for designing resource mobilization strategies such as crowd sourcing funding. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills proposing innovative approaches and ideas
  • Excellent IT skills.
