Business Development

• Develop and submit proposals and concept notes to generate business for the domain
• Take initiative to build relationships with potential clients
• Represent MSC at conferences/ webinars etc.
• Author /Co-author of thematic publications (Focus notes/Briefing notes)
• Actively engage in Marketing Activities and participate in Digital Media dialogues (blogs, discussion forums, etc.)

Human Capital Development

• Conduct “Quality of Delivery”/Feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution in line with the quality control guidelines
• Assist and support the development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate
• Share knowledge with staff and create opportunities for mentoring
• Take ownership of self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge which add value to the organization
• Grooming/mentoring junior team members

Business Execution

• Lead or assist with the planning and implementation of medium/large technical assistance assignments – study design, monitoring, data quality check, data analysis, data visualization
• Participate in assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings of assignments in the Data & Insights domain
• Lead teams of 3 to 4 members in assignments under supervision
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and manage their expectations.
• Builds rapport with various contact points at the client organization for successful execution of the assignments
• Plan and execute assignments with utmost due diligence
• Oversee and support the process of report writing and data analysis
• Review publications and research papers prepared, and technical assistance provided to clients
• Contribute to the development of MSC’s toolkits and other publications.

Strong analytical abilities, and research skills both quantitative and qualitative.

Proficiency in using statistical software like SPSS/STATA/R/Python – knowledge of and experience in data visualization and modeling is required.

Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills including flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree, random forests, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.

Experience in handling clients and managing stakeholders.
