About Job Profile

Admin and HR

Legal Officers are responsible for monitoring all legal affairs within their organization. They handle both internal and external legal concerns, and are tasked with doing everything in their power to keep their organization out of legal trouble.

Primary Responsibilities include

Scoping legal pro bono requests from our community of NGOs and social enterprises.

Managing pro bono requests, including connecting the pro bono client with lawyers and following up with the parties involved.

Designing and managing multiple cross-border research programmes that address the most critical social and policy needs facing our NGO and social enterprise members.

Supporting TrustLaw’s regional portfolio of law firms, corporations, referral partners, NGOs, social enterprises and other key stakeholders in Asia and the Pacific to ensure TrustLaw regional quality and growth metrics are met.

Administering the service, for example through inputting into databases, planners, and trackers, running Salesforce reports, ensuring members have up-to-date contact information, inputting into quarterly reports, responding to requests for information, etc.

Supporting the implementation of a regional strategy to expand and activate TrustLaw membership, ensuring we serve the best NGOs and social enterprises, as well as the strongest law firms and corporate in-house legal teams.

Contributing to the TrustLaw global and regional annual strategy.

Seeking out and developing fruitful relationships with potential partners and members to further the mission of TrustLaw.

Executing a robust communications strategy for legal member events and promotion of TrustLaw publications.

Maintaining a high profile in Asia and the Pacific by supporting and coordinating events for TrustLaw and the Thomson Reuters Foundation, including working group, panel discussions and workshops, among others.

Assist with other duties related projects in the region as required.

Provide support to TrustLaw activities across Asia and the Pacific, and globally as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of the legal and non-profit sectors in Asia and the Pacific, and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that pro bono opportunities bring to law firms and legal teams.

Organisational and project management ability and experience of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

An exceptional communicator with strong writing skills and public speaking experience.

Good at managing professional relationships and networking.

Is goal oriented, dynamic, and creative.

Commercial experience with a law firm or in-house would be favourable.

Experience organizing events or trainings favourable.

Fluent in English, other Asian languages favourable (Hindi or Thai would be preferred).

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
