Field Officer-Action Against Hunger

About Job Profile

Research and Field Work

The Field Officer (FO) will be responsible for implementation support and analytical program monitoring of all field operations in the given geography of Baran project.

Being a lead at Block level he/she will be responsible for coordinating with Block level Government departments and with other Development Partners. The position will supervise a team of Field level staffs (Field Supervisors and Community Mobilisers).

Primary Responsibilities include

The incumbent will perform the following but will not be limited to it:

A. Support field teams and monitor performance
• Provide directional support to Field Supervisors.
• Conduct regular supportive supervision and monitoring visits to districts for onsite support to Field Supervisors and Community Mobilisers.
• Support in conducting ongoing/periodic assessments of program outputs and outcomes including causal analysis of progress or lack of progress.
• Highlight the good practices and facilitate cross learning.
• Support implementation of capacity/skill building initiatives for field staff.
• Identify inadequacies and irrationalities in generation and use of data at all programs.

• Assess performances of each team member and provide required support.
• Assess and identify issues of concern in partnerships with government and
development partners at regional, district and block levels

B. Implementing Digital Literacy Clinic (DLC) in Baran
• Development/translation of DLC modules
• Implementation of DLC in the field
• Coordination with district IT cell of Government, ICDS and Health department to organise DLC activities for frontline workers.
• Participation in DLC global meetings/ daily/ weekly/monthly call
Other responsibilities:
• Represent Action Against Hunger at various meetings with stake holders and present the work and build working relationships.
• Prepare and submit an action plan to the Project Manager.
• Track programmatic data and ensure quality of data captured from the field. Coordinate with M&E team and implement the M&E processes.
• Support in submission of donor reports as per timelines and ensure accuracy of data and quality of narrative reports.
• Support Project Manager in reviewing documents and reports received from the field teams.
• Conduct training needs assessment and support in conducting trainings. Communicate training needs to the Program Manager and plan relevant trainings for the field team.
• Coordinate program procurement

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 IT literacy, functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and any database
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Hindi, working knowledge of local language.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s or equivalent P.G Diploma, Graduate from IT background
• Experience of at least 3 years preferably with an NGO with extensive field experience
• IT literacy, functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and any database
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Hindi, working knowledge of local language.
