About Job Profile

Research and Field Work

A field associate typically carries out a range of duties relating to fieldwork and is often supervised by the senior field officer or security officer. The supervisor determines general task priorities and offers appropriate direction and recommendations while a field associate may supervise the general support staff.

Primary Responsibilities include

  • To assist the Project team in creating and sharing Agri advisories on a weekly basis with the program farmers.
  • Ensure proper documentation of a farm practices and follow up with assigned   group of farmers.
  • Regular data collection and updating on the system.
  • Training and mobilization of farmers, organizing training of farmers and follow up and coordination of the activities in consultation with Cluster supervisor.
  • Mobilize and hand hold assigned farmer groups towards smart, sustainable and organic cotton or other crop certification.
  • Ensure good agricultural practices are disseminated to the program farmers.
  • Provide monthly update on progress to the reporting authority
  • To perform and monitor day to day field operations of Field Associates at the cluster level.
  • Monitor and review weekly progress of project and maintain records.
  • Prepare Qualitative and Quantitative Monthly, Quarterly Progress report for cluster level.
  • Provide all programmatic and agronomic trainings to the project farmers at the cluster level with
  • support of training & field staff and under the guidance of Project Coordinator.
  • Field visits for cross checking and monitoring the work and quality of Field staff.
  • Conduct awareness programmes and regular farmer visits at project area.
  • Distribution IEC materials of the programme and compliance to project protocol.
  • Maintain records of field operations and to report in Hard and Soft.
  • Motivate and Train farmers to adopt the recommended cultivation practices for     cotton and other crops as required by the programme.
  • Guide farmers in sustainable use of water at individual, community level to ensure water conservation at ground level.
  • Assisting the project staff in developing small entrepreneurs at community level.
  • Overall coordination of the project with support from the line manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working with farmers
  • Experience of conducting survey, training and awareness programs
  • Knowledge of good agricultural practices and innovations
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated
  • Willingness to work and travel in rural and semi-rural areas
  • Knowledge of MS Office and internet
  • Well versed in Hindi, English and Marathi language
