•     Developing, designing guidelines for farm mechanization in mountainous landscape aimed at improving food security, food safety and farm enterprise competitiveness, while integrating sustainable mechanization and digitalization into sustainable crop production systems.
•     Provide technical support to the project in operationalizing plans using farm machinery for carrying out project activities such as plantation, agro-commodity collection, processing, harvesting.
•     Collaborates with the project team to promote innovative technologies including automation, digitalization and agro-robotics to enhance access, use, timeliness and efficiency of agroforestry mechanization along the food value chain.
•     Support automation in post-production operations for value addition and to reduce food losses.
•     Support scoping for innovations in agricultural equipment for crop production and protection and advocate for suitable designs for hill farmers.
•     Supports the development and maintenance of partnerships and networks with different stakeholders to expand business through mechanization technologies adapted to local contexts.
•     Participates and supports quality assurance for the procurement of agricultural sector-related machinery, equipment and tools, including robotics and drones, and supporting infrastructures.

•     Knowledge of the local language Khasi / Jaintia.
•     Experience of communicating to a diverse range of audiences.
•     Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful or complex situation.

• A valid heavy operation/ drivers licence as well as an acceptable driving record.
• Excellent internal (within organisation and team) and external (with government and private stakeholders) communication skills in English.
• Willingness to interact with communities and visit steep, rugged terrain to demonstrate and guide farm machineries operations as per design methodologies for developing large scale plantations.
• Experience using Excel or Google spreadsheet.
• Ability to guide fabrication of designs to meet landscape specific needs as desired.
