The role of a MIS cum MEL manager  is to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's MIS, ensuring the effective collection, analysis, and reporting of data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, while also facilitating organizational learning and continuous improvement based on the insights gained from the data.

The manager will play a crucial role in leveraging technology and data-driven approaches to support evidence-based decision-making, enhance program effectiveness, and drive organizational impact. Primary Responsibilities include

• Deploying IT tools extensively within organization to ease access to information, effective reporting, and  transparency

• Helping the organization access data from the field, and process the information to serve as inputs for decision making at different levels of the organization

• Undertaking field studies, engaging in action research, and contributing to the organization’s pool of  knowledge and practice

• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets

• Develop and implement data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency

• Travel to the field locations as and when required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability for critical thinking and creativity around complex data

• Having a systematic and logical approach to problem-solving

• Good knowledge of Data Analytical Tools such as SPSS, Atlas is a plus.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in MIS or M&E.

With the aim to initiate socio-economic development in the North East region of India, a group of young professionals with years of experience from PRADAN (Professional Assistance For Development Action), found Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) in 2011. The name SeSTA pronounced as ‘Chesta’ means ‘Effort’ in Assamese. A professionally managed and evolving not-for-profit organization, SeSTA is registered under Societies Registration Act (SRA), 1860.

Through the process of ‘Nirman’ (constructive development) it strives to build capabilities of vulnerable communities by creating a just and equitable society devoid of poverty and identity related crises by promoting and strengthening their institutions in the region. 

SeSTA mobilises women from some of the most vulnerable and marginalized sections of the society and helps them form a collective. Most of them belong to ST, SC, OBC and minority communities. Through this it understands aspiration, skill, knowledge and market opportunities available to them and families, accordingly involves them in devising sustainable livelihood systems for their better future. In turn, also uniting these women to become financially independent and enhance their sense of self.
