Energy Efficiency Specialist RTI International 2023

RTI is hiring a “Specialist – Energy Efficiency” on the recently awarded USAID-funded Task Order Technical Support for South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) activity. This position will be based in New Delhi, India.

Primary Responsibilities include

  • Conduct research on policy, regulatory, and market barriers and opportunities for energy efficiency.
  • Identify, design, and support implementation of new activities related to energy efficiency market transformation programs.
  • Lead technical analysis for energy efficiency measures, energy efficiency potential estimation, benefit-cost analysis, implementation, and M&V.
  • Influence the development of transformative projects and programmes that respond to the identified needs and priorities of partner countries.
  • Provide strategic inputs on energy efficiency planning and implementation approaches.
  • Lead compilation of best practices, handbooks, and tip-sheets on energy efficiency.
  • Lead the development of lessons learned papers and contribute to knowledge management activities.
  • Interact directly with beneficiaries, provide technical oversight to work of subcontractors involved.
  • Design and conduct workshops and capacity building trainings.
  • Raise the program activities’ profile through outreach and knowledge sharing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Certified Energy Manager or Certified Energy Auditor by the Government of India is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in energy efficiency policies and programs/energy efficiency feasibility analysis/energy audit/ESCOs. Experience on building energy efficiency, green buildings, appliance energy efficiency is preferred.
  • Experience of working in international development projects preferred.
  • Relevant working experience engaging with government, public, private and civil society organization partners in the field of energy efficiency.
  • Experience of working in other South Asian countries is advantageous. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel regionally to project locations, conferences, and workshops.
