About Job Profile

Communication/Information Management

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Communication Specialist and Communication Officer - Digital or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Communication Officer.

Primary Responsibilities include

Social Media

  • Ensure that UNICEF India social media channels are regularly updated with engaging social media content in Hindi language.
  • Create, edit and schedule content on UNICEF India and/or partner social media channels in Hindi regularly.
  • Monitor and track Hindi language content on UNICEF India social media networks to analyze feedback from users in Hindi language and provide them with more information when required.
  • Provide technical support for Hindi language on major digital campaigns.
  • Provide consistent engagement and response to queries and messages on social media channels in Hindi language using pre-prepared responses, and as guided by the supervisor and/or communication officer. This includes work outside office hours and on weekends. It includes responding to messages and comments on social media content with a donation ask.
  • Provide assistance in the Hindi language to support development, implementation of digital campaigns, ensuring, where required, regular contact with creative agencies, vendors, and partners involved in campaigns are established.
  • Provide inputs to improve creative proposals and online media plans to amplify the campaigns’ impact for Hindi centric audiences.
  • Participate in weekly cross-team digital planning meetings.

 

Website

  • Ensure that UNICEF India website is regularly updated with content in Hindi language.
  • Create, edit and schedule content on UNICEF India website in Hindi regularly.
  • Produce, translate, edit and upload advocacy and communication materials in the Hindi language (e.g., human interest stories, programme briefs, photo essays, microsites.) on the UNICEF India website that meet the country and global standards as set out in the Global Communication Strategy.
  • Ensure that the production of communication products and materials for the website in Hindi is timely executed and followed up to support the overall online communication strategy and/or partner organization.
  • Support the Communication Specialist (content) to upload content on the website as and when required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills in Hindi. Working knowledge of English is also required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
