Communication/Information Management

This position requires a creative outlook, the ability to produce and coordinate content on tight deadlines, and the maintenance of complex systems and schedules. Those with a strong background in social media, multimedia production and/or international development will be given preference. 

The person will be responsible for supporting key communications functions for the Communications team through managing content and serving a key role in driving visibility. The individual will be instrumental in both producing and collecting dynamic content through photos, videos, and compelling stories for AIF’s various programs.
 

Primary Responsibilities include

• Work with the Communications Director and other members of the team to implement the communication strategy across AIF’s programs to include both internal and external communications 

• Support the Communications Director in developing a narrative and messages that reflect the core aims of AIF’s programs and creating strategic presentations for internal and external stakeholders
• Plan and coordinate an editorial calendar to create a pipeline of content including collaterals, reports, articles, op-eds, press releases, and blogs. Draft, edit, proofread, and commission materials as appropriate.
• Maintain communications with key stakeholders through regular mailings and newsletters 

• Produce high-quality, well-written, and visually appealing content to influence audiences: donors/partners and government agencies. Content may include blogs, articles, infographics, media articles, case studies, opinion editorials, policy briefs, videos, social media content, and interactive reports.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of the programs, identifying stories, and a knack to leverage program data for story-telling around key developments for dissemination 

• Work with Communications Director to continuously build communications assets, including a photo, story, and video bank for use in program resources and fundraising efforts
 • Assist in the creation of and be responsible for executing and managing a multi-channel online and social media strategy
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualize and execute compelling social and digital campaigns, including planning and distribution of multimedia content such as podcasts and videos 

• Measure, analyze, and document the success and impact of the Programs, social media pages, and campaigns. Develop goals and metrics to measure analyze, and optimize the effectiveness of digital strategy via web analytics
• Support Fundraising campaigns - Create AV asset kits for social media and other forms of communication to raise awareness and reach of the campaign
• Research and identify thematic gaps and conduct needs assessment, where required. 

• Collect quantitative and qualitative information, working closely with AIF program teams. 

• Develop and manage a database of case studies and stories collected from the field (including photos and video), and streamline processes to make content available widely across the organization for diverse uses.
• Support management of the website agency, design agency, or any other communications agency required for Communications tasks throughout the year Documentation
• Develop a mechanism to collect & archive case/impact stories
• Review quarterly/monthly/annual Beta version reports received from the field 

• Collect and collate data and numbers for the Board

Extracts and constructs powerful and engaging stories from program activities. Demonstrates excellent command of English and Hindi. 

• Creating and Innovating: Contributes new, interesting, and effective ways of getting messages about AIF’s programs to the people who need to hear them. Confidently contributes well-thought-through ideas, and sees them through to implementation. Continually scans the external environment for trends, insights, ideas, and good practices to share with the team.
• Digital First: Use digital technology, social media, and tools to achieve AIF’s goals and program objectives
• Collaboration: Works collaboratively within the team, sharing expertise, know-how, and ideas. Works collaboratively with a range of external stakeholders, consultants, and vendors. 

• Efficiency and Effectiveness: Effectively manage conflicting priorities across programs and projects. Responds flexibly, adaptable, and positively to unforeseen events and changing circumstances.
Specific Knowledge Desirable: Working familiarity with desktop publishing software such as MailChimp, Canva, InDesign, or MS Publisher.
