About Job Profile

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our non-profit organization based in India. We are a Section 8 non-profit organization governed by FCRA regulations.

The CFO will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing donor relationships, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization's mission and growth.

Primary Responsibilities include

1. Financial Management:

• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the organization's goals and FCRA regulations.

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, cash flow projections, and variance analysis.

• Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to the management team.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and internal controls.

2. Donor Relationship Management:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, both domestic and international.

• Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop and implement strategies to attract and retain donors.

• Provide financial information and reports to donors, demonstrating accountability and transparency in fund utilization.

• Participate in donor meetings, presentations, and events to represent the organization's financial interests.

3. Budgeting and Financial Planning:

• Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and the executive team to develop realistic and achievable financial plans.

• Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

• Conduct financial analysis, scenario modeling, and risk assessment to support strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with program managers to ensure program budgets align with donor requirements and organizational objectives.

4. Treasury and Cash Flow Management:

• Oversee cash flow planning, forecasting, and management, ensuring adequate liquidity for ongoing operations.

• Optimize cash management strategies, including investment decisions, risk mitigation, and foreign exchange management.

• Monitor and manage banking relationships, negotiate favourable terms, and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

5. Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with FCRA regulations, tax laws, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for annual audits and manage audit processes.

• Develop and implement effective risk management strategies and internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.

• Stay updated with evolving financial and regulatory frameworks, recommending changes as necessary.

6. Legal Support:

• Provide necessary Legal support and liase with outside Legal Counsels whenever required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Deep understanding of FCRA regulations and compliance requirements

related to non-profit organizations.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting,

and financial planning.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with

donors, board members, and other stakeholders.

• Ability to provide strategic financial guidance, contribute to organizational

decision-making, and drive financial sustainability.

• Proficient in financial management software and systems.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to

detail.

• High level of integrity, ethics, and commitment to transparency.
