About Job Profile

Research and Field Work

This is a cross sectoral scoping study to identify strategies to decarbonize and build climate resilience in the rural and urban landscapes in the Uttarakhand mountains.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated candidate for the same. The candidate will be expected to review the quite extensive data available, conduct further research as required to understand emissions, vulnerability and adaptation strategies related to hill towns.

The candidate will also be expected to come up with an innovative, multi-dimensional approach on the interventions needed to help the mountain communities build resilience, promote Green Economic Development and communicate their ideas effectively.

Primary Responsibilities include

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

a. experience in conducting research – Primary and Secondary
b. proficiency in data analysis
c. creative, multi-disciplinary thinking and application of ideas to local issues
d. good written, verbal, and visual communication skills
e. ability to engage with local communities
f. strong understanding of climate change issues and mitigation/adaptation strategies
 

Other Information:

Note:

The appointment will be for a period of one year and the candidate is required to live in Almora and make visits to villages, whenever necessary.
