About Job Profile

Project Management/Coordination

An assistant program manager helps the program manager or director to advance projects and goals. Their duties may include building budgets, assessing worker productivity, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with other project management responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities include

Responsibilities specific to Government Schemes:

  • Help Regional Program Officers in developing state-wise implementation plan.
  • Study the schemes of various national disease control programmes.
  • Facilitate study of member institutions (MI) that fit the criteria of disease control programmes
  • Facilitate/oversee meetings of RPOs with officials of respective disease control programmes for collaboration.
  • Support RPOs to facilitate/ensure identification of hospitals and centers to support fundraising and take forward the process until MoU is signed and initiation of implementation of scheme by MI
  • Undertake meetings with NRHM officials at state and national levels for collaboration
  • Facilitate issue-based advocacy.
  • Support RPOs in identifying and collaborating MIs with NRHM Program.

 

Responsibilities specific to Community Health:

  • Facilitate/ Organize trainings for Community Health Coordinators (CHCs) and Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) whenever ever required
  • Develop curriculum for the refresher trainings of existing Community Health Coordinators.
  • Develop awareness, IEC materials/Flip books
  • Facilitate implementation of community health together with Program Officers, CHCs and CHVs.
  • Review and consolidate Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly and annual reports.
  • Oversee the implementation of community health concept.
  • Document case studies/ success stories
  • Support Regional Unit to develop new strategies.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to make sound judgment and decisions and offer innovative solutions
  • Strong relationship management abilities. Ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally. Strategic in how you approach each relationship.
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills
  • Orientation toward capacity strengthening of staff and partners, and strong training and accompaniment skills
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and results-oriented

 

Other Information:

 

  • Undertake regular review and planning of the project through various methods such as Review and Planning Meetings and field visits.
  • Monitor the functioning and performance of RPOs/RUs/ MIs through review of technical reports and other methods.
  • Participate in financial management with the assistance of Finance Manager.
  • Review of quantitative, qualitative progress reports.
  • Consolidation of Monthly / Quarterly/Half yearly / Annual report and send it to PM/DG/Donor
  • Facilitating budget transfer to RUs as per the action plan
  • Facilitation of Donor’s field visit to MIs
  • Organizing Advocacy/ dissemination workshops
  • Facilitate conducting Review meeting at RU level
  • Assist PM to organize Central review meeting of the project
  • Regular ongoing follow-up with RUs for smoothly implementation of the project.
  • Updating CHAI program monitoring reports and submit to PM
