Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms are working to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women across the state through initiatives in education, skill development, and entrepreneurship. The company has engaged 1,220 Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs), benefiting over 12,000 women through training, financial assistance, and market linkages to enhance economic independence.

The Discoms have also involved 1,913 Abhas—women trained in electricity metering, billing, and collection—helping them gain technical expertise while raising awareness about energy conservation in urban and rural Odisha.

In an effort to improve literacy, Tata Power has established 55 Women Literacy Centers, benefiting over 2,000 women with basic education. The company also facilitates access to government schemes supporting women's education and financial advancement.

To further enhance employability, the company has set up 12 Vocational Training Centers and a Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Center. These facilities have trained over 2,000 women in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, tailoring, and beautician services, equipping them with skills for long-term employment.

A Tata Power spokesperson stated, "We are deeply committed to the Tata Group’s ethos of nation-building and inclusive growth. Empowering women is not just about uplifting individuals—it’s about strengthening entire communities. Through our focused initiatives in education, skill development, and entrepreneurship, we are bridging knowledge gaps and enhancing opportunities, enabling women to achieve financial independence and sustainable livelihoods. By equipping them with the right tools and support, we are fostering self-reliance and resilience to create a more inclusive society."
