New Delhi, 31st Jan, 2024: The Wadhwani Centre for Government Digital Transformation (WGDT) and the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) have together achieved a significant milestone by successfully training 200,000 government officials on the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) Karmayogi Learning Management System. This accomplishment marks a substantial advancement in their mission to promote digital transformation within government services.
According to the programme officials, the training course, focused on introducing government officials to digital innovation, including AI, blockchain, and data analytics, underscores the increasing recognition of the importance of digital literacy in the government sector. Enhancing the capabilities of government employees is crucial to effectively navigate and utilize technological advancements for improved public service delivery.
The collaboration between WGDT and CBC has resulted in a practical curriculum aimed at providing insights into applying emerging technologies in governance to enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen service delivery.
As demand grows, the Wadhwani Centre for Government Digital Transformation, guided by the Capacity Building Commission, has developed five new courses on new and emerging technologies. Additionally, they are expanding their offerings on the iGOT Learning Management System with five more courses. “The objective is to foster a robust digital ecosystem within the government, ensuring public services are efficient, inclusive, and innovative,” the officials said.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman of the Capacity Building Commission said, "As part of Mission Karmayogi, a large number of civil servants were to understand emerging technologies and apply it in their work. Wadhwani Foundation developed the digital course on Emerging Technologies and this has now been taken by 200,000 civil servants. Our strategy is to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation among government employees. This milestone signifies the eagerness and readiness of govt workforce to lead digital transformation initiatives."
