VBIT Vignana Bharathi institute of technology was set up by the trust in 2004. Following are some of the achievements , , Institute has received Accreditation for 5 years from National Assessment and Accreditation Council NAAC. , Institute has received special grant from Department of Science & Technology, Government of India under Fund for improvement of Science and Technology InfrastructureFIST scheme during 201415. The grant is for 5 years to develop a common research facility to carry out multi disciplinary studies , Institute is recognized under 2f & 12B Sections of the UGC act, 1956 for receiving financial assistance from University Grants Commission UGC , Institute has received accreditation status for its four major UG programs ECE,CSE,EEE & IT from National Board of Accreditation NBA , Two Research projects are being carried out with funding from ISRO and three Research Scholars working on these projects are pursuing their Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from JNTU, Hyderabad , AICTE has approved the institute as a center for Pradhan Manthri Koushal Vikas Yojana PMKVY where unemployed youth from near by areas can be trained in 4 vocational disciplines. , , University Grants Commission UGC has sanctioned Minor Research Projects to 7 faculty members of various departments. The duration of these projects is of 2 years and the total grant sanctioned is Rs.11, 33,000 , Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO has sanctioned a project titled A Study of Variations in Total Electron Content TEC Scintillations and Integrated Water Vapour IWV using Global Navigation Satellite System GNSS Receiver under RESPOND programme. The duration of the project is three years at a total outlay of Rs. 31.87 lakhs.IEEEVBIT SB Women in Engineering WIE Affinity group has received 2015 WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the Year Award from IEEE Women in Engineering chair for the academic year 201516. , The Department of Science and Technology DST, Government of India, has sanctioned a project in the field of Space Science to the R& D Center and Department of Computer Science.The project StratosphereTroposphere Coupling through Observations of ozone and water Vapor: Transport effects on the Vertical Distribution of Ozone is to measure the Ozone and Water Vapour concentration in the Troposphere and Stratosphere 35 km to estimate StratosphereTroposphere exchange STE.
