Four young theatre workers, few well wishers and some unemployed youth came together and found NAHALEE on May 22nd, 2005. , In the year 2007 on 26th July we registered our group under the West Bengal Society Registration Act-1961(Reg.No.-S/1L/46058) , Our Main Activities are: , We Perform Drama, Mime, Dance Drama through proper training and practice. , Work with underprivileged individuals who are creative and talented. , To improve the overall cultural environment of the locality, we organize various cultural activities (viz.Theatre festival, Cultural competition, Training etc). , Working with children to make them one of our society.. , Use Art and Culture as a Therapy. , School Theatre Programme. , Training and Workshops. , Our Achievements are: , Conducted training and workshops on Theatre with different Organizations like CINI, CRY, MJCC, and SAHAY in the last six years. , , Nahalee dealt with 350 children (approx), who got training on different aspects of theatre and other form of Arts like (Dance, Drawing, Mime and song). , , It was noticed in the school theatre programme that students have learnt to communicate better with each other, spontaneity developed and theatre also gave them a medium to express themselves freely. Many of them developed interest in Theatre. , , Nahalee was invited in the following festivals: , , Sangeet Natak Academy Young Theatre Artist Drama Festival 2008 , Natya Chetna(Odessa) Drama Festival-2010 , Thealight Drama Festival- 2011 , Bol Jamoore children street theatre festival by CRY -2010 and 2011 , , We organized an open air Theatre festival (Annual Programme 2011-2012). , , We have performed more than 125 street shows in the last four years for different Organizations like CINI, MJCC etc on various topics like Child Rights and other social issues. , , Through our experimental theatre with children, we were able to bring privileged and underprivileged children under one platform and in future it can help us in research based work.
