About the organization

Special features of the organization

Our endeavor started in 1979, with one small rented room with one autistic child and one special educator. Now after 35 years of hard work we have grown to have a full-fledged special school for challenged children. We have been running a special schooland a Vocational training Unit for Autistic and mentally challenged children. Students from economically disadvantaged families receive education and training free of any charges, while others pay a substantially reduced rate. We aim to enable as many of our students as possible to get back to main stream schools and find an independent livelihood. , Our team comprises special educators, co-curricular teachers in dance, music, rhythm, art & crafts, sports etc., and specialists namely physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapists and psychologist and caregivers. There are two special school buses with wheelchair-hoist donated by Rotary Club of Calcutta Metropolitan and Life Insurance Corporation of India. , , We have an arrangement with Singapore International Foundation who depute expert teachers from their reputed special schools to conduct training workshop for our teachers and parents in Kolkata. They had also sponsored our teachers to visit special schools in Singapore and take hands-on training there.
