About Job Profile

Monitoring, Evaluation and Assessment

We are looking for a dynamic leader, who is sensitive to the needs of informal women workers, and is able to adapt to contexts and situations with ease. The MD should be able to create an inclusive, safe workspace for the staff, rooted in ideas of fairness, inclusion, transparency and democracy. The leader should be able to collaborate both with the members, i.e. informal women workers’ cooperatives/collectives, as well as operate in policy change spaces – nationally and internationally.
 

Primary Responsibilities include

 

  • Overall management of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth, including: financial management, human resources management, research and development of new products and services.
  • Leading and managing new initiatives and projects for strengthening and expansion of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth’s work, through conceptualisation, process management and implementation
  • Develop strategies for efficient operation and upscaling of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth’s work, at the national and international level, in consultation with the Board of Directors
  • Ensuring timely reporting to donors, regulators and all statutory compliances.
  • Providing regular information to the SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth Board on all progress, operations and finances of the SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth, presenting the
  • draft annual report, financial statements and budgets to the board for approval.
  • Performing such other duties as specified in the bye-laws of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth.

Financial Performance and Viability:

  • Develop and raise resources to ensure the financial health of the organization through fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth’s mission.
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately
  • reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Responsible for fiscal management and operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with funders/other stakeholders.

Organization Mission and Strategy:

  • Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Responsible for the enhancement of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
  • To increase and strengthen the member-base of SEWA Cooperative Federation & SEWA Saamarth i.e., increasing the number of cooperatives and collectives obtaining services from the SEWA Cooperative Federation and SEWA Saamarth.

  • Working with the staff (both grassroots and professional personnel) to build internal capacities and growth strategies for each team, including: capacity-building, finance, HR, research and advocacy, communication and enterprise development
  • Working with sector-specific teams, i.e. handicrafts and agriculture,to ensure smooth operations.
